The Importance of Raising Awareness & Educating Others

At You Glow, we recognise the vital role awareness and education play in supporting women and girls in our community. By highlighting our work, we not only shine a light on the challenges they face but also inspire collective action to create meaningful change.

We welcome every opportunity to raise awareness about You Glow and to educate others about the pressing issues and challenges impacting women and girls. Together, through understanding and collaboration, we can empower and uplift those who need it most.

Support Us

Women and young girls from disadvantaged communities are facing increasing challenges, including mental health struggles, domestic violence, financial hardship, and poverty. The statistics are alarming:

  • 1 in 3 women worldwide experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime (WHO, 2021).
  • Over 60% of domestic abuse victims have no access to financial resources, making it harder to leave unsafe situations (Women's Aid, 2023).
  • 1 in 4 girls aged 13-19 struggles with mental health issues, including depression and anxiety (NHS Digital, 2023).
  • Self-harm rates among teenage girls have increased by 68% in the last decade (UK Mental Health Foundation, 2023).
  • Grooming and exploitation cases have risen by 30% in the past five years, putting more young girls at risk (NSPCC, 2024).

Many of these girls and women suffer in silence, trapped by circumstances beyond their control. Without support, they are at greater risk of:

  • Family breakdown and homelessness
  • Substance abuse and criminal activity
  • Long-term trauma and diminished future opportunities

Your support can help us provide:

  • Safe spaces and crisis support for women and girls in danger
  • Mental health services, counselling, and emotional well-being programs
  • Educational opportunities and vocational training to break cycles of poverty
  • Advocacy and awareness to prevent domestic violence and exploitation

Together, we can create change. Your contribution—whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness—can make a real difference.

Join us today and be a part of the solution.
